Thanksgiving

Making 750 Thanksgiving Meals will be no small feat! Our church will be buzzing with many volunteers graciously serving. Luckily my brother and sister in law will be our host on Thanksgiving Day. My husband and kids will be serving on Wednesday and Thursday as well preparing the meals to be delivered to needy families. My brother's only request was to bring Broccoli Salad on Thanksgiving Day. Its his favorite. I'm happily said "yes". So, here is the recipe for my Thanksgiving Day contribution.

Broccoli Salad

5 cups fresh broccoli florets
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
1/4 cup of red onion, chopped

Dressing:
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons vinegar
1/2 cup sugar

PREPARATION:
Combine broccoli florets, raisins, sunflower seeds, crumbled bacon and chopped onion, in a large serving bowl. In a separate bowl or large cup, whisk together mayonnaise, vinegar and sugar. Add dressing to the salad and toss to mix well; chill thoroughly before serving.

Broccoli salad serves 4 to 6.
